Digital asset markets extended losses Thursday as speculative altcoins cratered, with the Trump-themed token plunging 21% to monthly lows. The rout spread across mid and small-cap tokens, erasing earlier gains amid broad risk aversion.

Bitcoin held relative stability at $88,200 (-0.7%), while Ethereum struggled below the psychological $3,000 level at $2,993 (-1%). The pullback reflects cooling sentiment after November's rally, with traders rotating out of meme coins and Leveraged positions.

Binance order books showed cascading liquidations for several altcoins. 'The market's flushing out excess speculation,' said one OTC trader who requested anonymity. 'Institutional flows remain focused on BTC and ETH - everything else is getting repriced.'
